Dept. of CSE, Uttara University organized an Intra-Department programming contest by the name of UU Binary Fest Programming Contest on October 15, 2019. It was an individual contest and 40 programmers participated in the event. Uttara University has always motivated the students to assure their participation in any kind of constructive and competitive events locally and globally. It was a very competitive programming contest conducted in the Programming Lab1 and Programming Lab2 of the Department. Out of the 40 participants, a significant number performed remarkably well in the contest. There were a total of 6 problems and an outstanding programmer Md. Mahmodul Hassan Shawon, batch 45, Dept of CSE, solved all these problems and confirmed the championship. Many other students solved 5, 4 or 3 problems. 1st and 2nd runners up were, respectively, Muaj Bin Malek , 45th batch and Robiul Islam Rubel, 47th batch. The contest invoked great inspirations among participating as well as other students.

Faculty Member from the Department of CSE attended International Conference in ULAB (Indexed by Springer)

Mr. Md. Shafiul Alam Chowdhury, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Uttara University attended the International Joint Conference on Computational Intelligence (IJCCI-2019) at University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh, held on 25– 26 October’19 as a researcher. He also presented a research paper title “Bangla phoneme recognition: probabilistic approach”. The research article will be publish in the “Springer Nature Book Series: Algorithms for Intelligent Systems (AIS)”- Springer Nature (Singapore-Switzerland).

Renowned researchers, IT professionals and corporate figures from all over the world were present in the conference. The Conference is indexed by “Springer” which is a leading global scientific, technical and medical portfolio, providing researchers in academia, scientific institutions and corporate R&D departments with quality content through innovative information, products and services.

IJCCI-2019 jointly organized by University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB), South Asian University

(SAU), INDIA and Jahangirnagar University (JU), Bangladesh.

Ninth monthly research colloquium of School of Business

The ninth monthly research colloquium of School of Business was held on October 16, 2019 Wednesday at IQAC Seminar Hall. Mr. Md. Anisuzzaman, Assistant Professor of Department of Business Administration, was the speaker. He spoke on Capital market scam in Bangladesh: reasons and roles of regulators and recovery process. All of the faculty members of the Department were present. Research Club played an active role to organize the colloquium. The next colloquium will be held on November 20, 2019 and its title is Skills building through experiential learning. All faculty members are expected to share some of the gems from their teaching experiences.

It is our immense pleasure that the 11th International Conference on Information Technology and Electrical Engineering, ICITEE 2019, jointly organized by the King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), Bangkok, Thailand, and Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM); Yogyakarta, Indonesia, invited Chowdhury Sajadul Islam, Assistant Professor of Dept. of CSE as a Session Chair. He also presented a research paper entitled “X-Layer Optimization in CRN Using Deep-Q-Network for High-Speed Secure Communication”. The accepted and presented paper will be published in the IEEE Xplore® and indexed by SCOPUS, EI Compendex, ISI Citation Index, and major databases. ICITEE 2019 is technically sponsored by IEEE Thailand Section and IEEE Control Systems Society of Thailand Chapter. Also, the Conference is technically co-sponsored and supported by IEEE Computational Intelligence Society of Thailand Chapter and IEEE PES, Thailand Chapter and also ECTI Association. The conference covered a broad array of scientific tracks with diverse topics of cutting-edge research and innovation in Communication & Network Technologies, Signal Processing & Machine Learning, Information Technology, Control Systems, Electronics, Circuits Systems, Power System and entrepreneurship.
