A seminar on “Impact of Universal Declaration of Human Rights on the Constitution of Bangladesh: A Legal Study” was organized by the Department of Law of Uttara University in the Hall Room of the Department on 3rd December 2016. Professor Dr. M. Faiz-ud-Din, Chairman of the Department of Law of Uttara University presented the paper in the seminar. Mr. A.K.M Zahurul Alam, Senior District and Sessions Judge, Secretary, Bangladesh Bar Council graced the seminar as Chief Guest. Professor Dr. M. Azizur Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of Uttara University; Professor Dr. Eaysmin Ara Lekha, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Uttara University; Professor Mumtaz Begum, Treasurer of Uttara University were present in the seminar as Special Guests. Mr. Kazi Mahiuddin, Registrar of Uttara University was present in the seminar as Guest of Honor. Dr. Ahmuduzaman, Associate Professor of the Department, discussed on the paper. Mr. Nirmal Chandra Paul, Assistant Professor of the Department, delivered his speech as welcome speaker. Mr. Md. Nannu Mian, Assistant Professor and Coordinator of LL.B. (Hons.) Program delivered his speech highlighting the glory of Uttara University through PowerPoint Presentation in the seminar. Mr. Masum Mia, Lecturer of the Department, presented the seminar. Professor Dr. M. Faiz-ud-Din, Chairman of the Department presided over the Seminar. In the seminar, stress was made on the fundamental rights of the people of Bangladesh specially the rights of woman and children were highlighted. It was proposed that the violation of human rights in Bangladesh can be prevented if more Judges are appointed and more courts are established and if judgments are delivered speedily.
