Seminar on “Effective Teaching Strategy”

A seminar on “Effective Teaching Strategy” organized by School of Business was held on 29 July 2015 at NZ Center of Uttara University. Dr. Serajul I. Bhuiyan, Professor and Graduate Program Director, Department of Mass Communication, Kuwait University, Kuwait, was the resource person to conduct the seminar. Prior to joining Kuwait University, Dr. Bhuiyan served as a Professor and Head of the Department of Communication and Dramatic Arts at Auburn University, Alabama, USA. He also worked as a faculty member in different universities of USA, Australia, Singapore, Ireland and Bangladesh and as a consultant in the Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP) of Bangladesh funded by the World Bank. In his lecture, Dr Bhuiyan mentioned different domains of learning, students’ learning style, types of learners and their diversity, course syllabus, preparation of lecture materials, and ideal classroom environment.  He pointed out some crucial strategies to follow in order to make teaching effective through his lecture. Prof. Dr. Nazrul Islam, Dean of SoB, presided over the session as Chair. Mr. Kazi Tareq Ullah, Chairman, Department of Business Administration delivered welcome address in the seminar. More than 40 faculty members of the school attended the seminar. Among the participants, Professor Dr DNR Paul and Dr Sharmina Afrin were also present in the seminar. The Question and Answer (Q & A) session was held at the end of the seminar.
