Uttara University Girls’ Team Secured 22nd Position in the National Girls’ Programming Contest.

A Girls’ programming contest team from the Dept. of CSE, Uttara University participated in the National Girls’ Programming Contest (NGPC) held on January 02, 2020 at University of Asia Pacific. It was a national level contest where girls’ teams from all reputed universities participated. It is a matter of great pleasure that our girls’ team secured 22nd position in this grand event. Civil Engineering Department of Uttara University Organized A seminar “Teaching and Learning in Civil Engineering: A Perspective of Public and Private Higher Learning Institution” presented by Prof. Dr. Engr. Muhammad Abu Eusuf, P. Eng., Chairman, Department of Civil Engineering, Uttara University at Conference Room, Civil Engineering Main Building, Sector 7, Uttara, Dhaka-1230 on 17/02/2020-Monday at 2.00 to 3.00 pm. All faculty members of Civil Engineering Department of UU attended as a participant.

Dept. of Textile Engg. organized a seminar entitled-“Application of Computer in Textiles: Design and Development of Textiles Printing”

Department of Textile Engg. of Uttara University successfully organized a seminar entitled-“Application of Computer in Textiles: Design and Development of Textiles Printing” on 11th  January 2020.

Key Note Speaker: Md. Shawkat Hossain (Sohel), Manager (CAD), Unifill Composite Dyeing Mills Ltd, Kashimpur, Gazipur, delivered an enlightened and intellectual speech for understanding and grasping the advanced technologies on Textile Engineering. He also explained the necessary steps for the Rotary screen and Flatbed screen printing machine.

Md. Abu Bakar Siddiquee (Chair of the Seminar and Chairman, Department of Textile Engineering) and other faculty members attended the seminar and delivers their important speeches to students.

Global Conference attended by Prof. Dr. ASM Shahabuddin, Dean, School of Business, Uttara University

Creating Legacy in Times of Crisis” was the title of Inspiration Economy International Conference. It was organized by the International Institute of Inspiration Economy and held at The Grove Hotel in the Kingdom of Bahrain during 3-4 February 2020. The conference was followed by two days workshop (5-6 February 2020) which attempted to sharpen the capacity of the participants so that they can work towards creating a legacy. Around 150 delegates from 28 countries attended the conference and the workshop.

Prof. ASM Shahabuddin, Dean, School of Business, Uttara University was invited with sponsorship by Dr. Mohamed Buheji, Founder of IIEP & President of IE Conference 2020- Bahrain. Prof. Shahabuddin’s presentation on “Innovative Use of Optional Charity in Business” has sparked interest among the conference attendees especially from Bahrain, Libya, and Sri Lanka. He was interviewed by Bahrain TV on the first day of the conference. Dr. Mohamed Buheji expects to strengthen his ties with Prof. Shahabuddin and his team, and hope that a productive collaborative relationship with Uttara University will unfold through Inspiration Lab workshops and Inspiration Economy projects.
