Department of Textile Engg. of Uttara University successfully organized a seminar entitled-“Application of Computer in Textiles: Design and Development of Textiles Printing” on 11th  January 2020.

Key Note Speaker: Md. Shawkat Hossain (Sohel), Manager (CAD), Unifill Composite Dyeing Mills Ltd, Kashimpur, Gazipur, delivered an enlightened and intellectual speech for understanding and grasping the advanced technologies on Textile Engineering. He also explained the necessary steps for the Rotary screen and Flatbed screen printing machine.

Md. Abu Bakar Siddiquee (Chair of the Seminar and Chairman, Department of Textile Engineering) and other faculty members attended the seminar and delivers their important speeches to students.

Around 100 students attended the seminar.

Global Conference attended by Prof. Dr. ASM Shahabuddin, Dean, School of Business, Uttara University

Creating Legacy in Times of Crisis” was the title of Inspiration Economy International Conference. It was organized by the International Institute of Inspiration Economy and held at The Grove Hotel in the Kingdom of Bahrain during 3-4 February 2020. The conference was followed by two days workshop (5-6 February 2020) which attempted to sharpen the capacity of the participants so that they can work towards creating a legacy. Around 150 delegates from 28 countries attended the conference and the workshop.

Prof. ASM Shahabuddin, Dean, School of Business, Uttara University was invited with sponsorship by Dr. Mohamed Buheji, Founder of IIEP & President of IE Conference 2020- Bahrain. Prof. Shahabuddin’s presentation on “Innovative Use of Optional Charity in Business” has sparked interest among the conference attendees especially from Bahrain, Libya, and Sri Lanka. He was interviewed by Bahrain TV on the first day of the conference. Dr. Mohamed Buheji expects to strengthen his ties with Prof. Shahabuddin and his team, and hope that a productive collaborative relationship with Uttara University will unfold through Inspiration Lab workshops and Inspiration Economy projects.

Seminar on Soft Skill Development and Career Planning in Business Industries

More than 70 BBA students attended the seminar on Soft Skill Development and Career Planning in Business Industries. The seminar was jointly organized by Business Club, Uttara University and North South University on 04 February 2020 Tuesday at 3.00pm in IQAC Seminar Hall. Mr. Lutfor Rahman Joy, Chairman, Bango News BD., Mr. Mahbub Amin Nahiyan, President, 5th International Business Genius Bangladesh 2020, and Mr. Sagar Khalasi, Community Program Manager, Google, were the resource persons of the seminar. They spoke on how business graduates can develop soft skills to be successful in their future careers. They also emphasized on moral development of them. The Dean of SoB (acting), Professor Dr. Debi Narayan Rudra Paul presided over the program. Dr. Md. Golam Morsherd, Assistant Professor of the Department of Business Administration and the Moderator of the Business Club, Mr. Amitava Bose Bapi, Assistant Professor and Mr. Mohammed Jahirul Islam, Senior Lecturer of Department of Business were the present in the seminar.

Indoor Games Competition Organized by SoB Sports Club” from DBA, UU on 06 to 08 February 2020

For the 1st year students of BBA program, SoB Sports Club of Uttara University organized a 2-days “Indoor Games Competition” which started on 06.02.2020. The purpose of the competition was to strengthen bonding among students and teachers. With great enthusiasm, around 50 students participated in four games namely Chess, Ludo, Carrom, and Dart Throwing. Ms. Afrida Akhter Tithi and Mr. Md. Azmol Hossain, both Senior Lecturers of the Department of Business Administration and Moderators of the Club expended their best efforts to organize the completion. The event was ended with a prize giving ceremony where the moderators, Dean of the School of Business and other teachers were present. All present expected arrangement of such games competition in larger scale in future.
